It’s always been you

Do you ever sit and think that no matter what happened and who you’re with, you always keep coming back to that one person in your life?

The situation made me think about whether it’s just a coincidence or not. But every time my relationship with someone would end, my path would always lead me to that one person in my life.

He is the person I never had a serious relationship with. Well, maybe a talking stage or a mutual understanding, I think, but a relationship with a label? No, we did not reach that point in our relationship. We hang out, call, chat, and update each other but still don’t end up officially together.

I don’t know if destiny’s making fun of us or it’s just him not taking the risk. Worse, I am not the girl who he wanted to pursue. Despite it all, I always come back to him.

When I’m with him, I don’t feel the butterflies in my stomach, but instead I feel safe, warm, and, especially, at home. His presence instilled in me a sense of serenity that others cannot provide — he possesses a unique quality, and that is why I hold him dear. Yes, I love him fondly. The love I had with him is distinct; I cannot love others the way I love him.

And if God would give me another life to live again, I would still choose to love him again and again. He is my only exception, my totga, and my greatest love.

Even if there’s no trophy, I will always come back to him every damn time.
