The Strong Winds of the 21st Century. Beware!

Strong winds broke my philodendron this morning. It was a plant that I had nurtured for about twenty years. Almost too heavy to lift, its china container broken into bits, it presents a problem. The old standby and pleasurable beauty has to be replanted.
Such is the 21st century. Broken. Heavy. Stupid. Distracted. Non-reparable.
The past has been shredded, of beautiful cities, homes, and friendly neighbors, once so dependable and comforting, now under attack by gangs of paid disrupters, destroying the old ways. Yes, I said paid to do bad things and harm others.
You see, the old ways are treasured for good reason. The industrial age was the precursor to this age. It delivered many conveniences, such as the railroads, automobiles, and progress. Since modernization knows no limits. Not even the Internet, SpaceX, or Starlink can stop progress, and we are led to believe that human beings will be replaced by robots. It seems that nothing is impossible. Are you certain that you approve?
The 21st Century is Being Recorded
The Internet, which we readily embraced, is responsible for pushing away our acquaintances. Instead, its usefulness has drifted into malware attacks, fraud, deception, accusations, and personal insults. Have you noticed? Where are your friends?
They might be filming themselves doing something stupid — something to blame others for. The reality is that few young people take responsibility for their actions. Indeed! You sent them to school, even the grandest of colleges. All wasted.
Yes indeed, this is an era of non-production and uselessness that is frequently inflicted upon restaurants, airplanes, and other businesses. No one to the rescue. Instead, public disturbances are filmed by anyone and everyone.
Deceivers Earn Big Money!!
The local newspaper is no longer useful. Instead, news is preached and read to us from a script of hatred. During World War II, reporters risked their lives gathering the facts on the battlefield, and the results were shown in movie theatres. Real reporters. Not women with umpteen face-lifts and fake eyelashes, or men who included themselves in street interviews and riots. It is judgment day, and the media invents and includes itself in the dialogue, and is paid millions of dollars for it!
Yes, I would like the old days back again.
I can still have my philodendron, halfen-it, and divide it into two pots. I will still have my plant. But will it still be beautiful? No. It will be different. Just like life in the 21st century.
