Kildare gardaí probing criminal damage incidents in Athy

Members of An Garda Síochána (AGS) in County Kildare are investigating two separate criminal damage incidents which both occurred in Athy.
When asked about the first incident, a spokesperson for AGS said: “Gardaí received a report of an incident of criminal damage that occurred at approximately 11:15pm on February 16, 2025 in the People’s Park in Athy, County Kildare.”
Regarding the second incident, the same spokesperson said: “Gardaí also received a report of an incident of criminal damage that occurred at approximately 6am on February 18, 2025 in the Ardrew Meadows area of Athy, County Kildare.”
They added: “Investigations are ongoing at this time.”
A garda who appeared on a KFM radio programme on February 19 last (Wednesday) told host Eoin Beatty that the incidents involved damage being caused to vehicles.
The garda added that no items were taken from the vehicles.
