Displate is a popular platform where artists can sell metal posters. It is also friendly for people who use AI to create art. Displate works with many well-known brands. According to Displate, they partner with Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Bethesda, NASA, and The Witcher. This makes the platform feel trusted and well-known.
Displate also has a money-making system called Share and Earn. Any artist can join it. You only need to sign up for free and open your own shop.
How to Sell Art Through Share and Earn
To start, you must register for an artist account. Fill out the form and click “Create an account.”
After you create your shop, you will get an email. Click the verification link inside that email. When your shop is open, upload your artwork.
Then go to your profile → collections → or a single artwork. There you will see a “Share and Earn” button. Click it to get your personal Share and Earn link. You can also find your Share and Earn code in your Account Settings.
Share these links anywhere — social media, website, blog, or anywhere you want. When someone buys through your link, you earn money.
How Much Commission Do You Earn?
- If you sell a regular Displate through your link, you earn 41% of the net price (minus taxes, fees, and discounts).
- If someone buys a Limited Edition or Ultra Limited Edition, you earn 10%.
- Influencers can earn up to 25%.
How Do You Withdraw Your Earnings?
Your commission appears 24 hours after a sale. You can request a payout 10 days after the sale. You can withdraw through PayPal once you reach $50. Payments take up to 45 days to process.
My Honest Experience With Displate
On paper, everything sounds great. Your earnings may come fast. But my own experience was different. I uploaded ten artworks. Eight were deactivated. I do not know why. Only two are still waiting for validation.
I use AI to create my images, and Displate does allow AI art. But I personally have no hope with this platform. It may work well for others. I am still unsure.
What about you? What is your experience with Displate?
Important Art Requirements for Displate
If you want to try Displate, here are the main requirements for artwork:
- File types: JPG, PNG, WEBP, or AVIF
- Minimum size: 2900 × 4060 px
- Aspect ratio: 1.4:1

These are very important. The wrong size or wrong DPI can cause rejection.
How to Prepare Your AI Artwork for Displate Using Canva
Step 1: Upscale Your AI Artwork
Most AI images are too small for printing. You must enlarge them first. Search online for “AI image upscaler.”
Step 2: Set Up a Canvas in Canva
- Open Canva → click Create a design → Custom size
- Enter 2900 × 4060 px (or 4000 × 5600 px)
- Upload your upscaled artwork
- Place the artwork on the canvas and make sure it fills the space
- Keep a small safe margin around the edges
Step 3: Export Your Artwork
- Click Share → Download
- Choose PDF Print
- Set the color profile to RGB
- Download the file
This gives you the best resolution from Canva.
Step 4: Convert Your PDF
Displate does not accept PDF files. Use a file converter and turn your PDF into:
- JPG
- PNG
- WEBP
- AVIF
Now your artwork is ready to upload to Displate.
Displate may be a good platform with a money opportunity. But the approval process is very strict. My own results were not positive, but your experience may be different.
If you try Displate, I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to share your experience — good or bad.
