Everything is a paradox
Today, I realised how everything feels like a paradox when you start paying attention.
We talk about God and all things holy, yet most of us have sinned in ways we don’t always admit. We believe in goodness, but we still hurt people, judge people, lie, or make selfish choices. We want to be better, yet we often accept our flaws instead of confronting them. Somehow both exist at once.
Maybe that is why we spend so much of life searching for the missing pieces of ourselves, trying to understand what makes us whole.

We always say communication is important. We tell people to speak up, express themselves, and not keep everything bottled in. But when things get hard, many of us isolate. We ignore messages, avoid calls, and sit alone with thoughts we don’t know how to explain. We want to be understood, yet we make ourselves hard to reach.
We talk a lot about discipline and productivity. We say mood shouldn’t control action, that life moves on whether we feel good or not. But disappointment can drain everything out of us. Sometimes we spend days doing nothing, lying in bed, scrolling all day, letting time pass because getting up feels heavier than it should. We value progress, yet we often freeze when life throws challenges at us.
We say health is wealth, but then we treat our bodies like black holes, as if everything we consume simply disappears without consequence. But it honestly doesn’t. We eat things that comfort us in the moment and ignore the long-term damage. Fast food, bad habits, lack of sleep, constant stress. We know better, but knowing doesn’t always stop us.
And then there is yearning. People make it sound beautiful. Missing someone, wanting something deeply, waiting for love, holding onto hope. It can feel poetic until it starts destroying you. We forget how many times yearning has made people stay too long, love the wrong person, or lose themselves chasing something that was never meant for them.
That’s what makes life feel like a paradox.
We know, yet ignore. We want peace, yet feed chaos. We seek health, yet harm ourselves. We glorify longing, yet forget how painful longing can be.
Maybe being human is living between opposites. Wanting one thing and doing another. Understanding what is right, yet struggling to follow it.
Maybe life feels like a paradox because, deep down, so are we.
