Mindfu*ck, eh…what?
Unraveling the brain-bending chaos you never saw coming (and how to keep your sanity intact).
Mindfu*ck, eh…what?

“Mindfuck” truly means when something messes with your brain so profoundly that it pushes you on the edge of sanity, causing you to question your life decisions and your very existence.
That, my folk, is exactly the phenomenon a person experiences when they talk or have any form of relationship with emotionally unavailable and narcissistic or ego-delicate people. We hold them dear, cater to their needs, turn a blind eye to their blaring psychological faults, and expect that one day they will realize how much we value them.
‘Once they realize how much I value him/her, they will start valuing me too.’ The little voice inside your head whispers to your infatuated heart. And you foolishly believe that voice for half of your life until a tide of harsh, unexpected reality envelopes you and knocks you over, and you experience bruises (emotional, mental, and eventually physical) that haunt you for all your tomorrows.
To put it plainly, you get undeniably and irrevocably mindfucked.
“You should make some glutes.” He remarked in a teasing tone.
Glutes? She mused. What the hell is that?
By grace of tad innocence and rose-tinted glasses perched on her nose, she didn’t exactly realize the subtle insult wrapped in his tone. But she had brains, unlike him, so she googled and grasped the meaning of glutes.
He wants me to grow my ass. Dammit.
A slithering venomous snake crept all the way from her belly to throat, shattering the rose-tinted glasses and blurring the vision with all reds and greys.
“You should grow your manhood then.” She returned, wrapping the indignation under the forced smile.
“Manhood?”
He was confused, and it only confirmed her hypothesis that the man on the other side of the call was not only a pretentious, self-absorbed swine, but he also possessed the mind of a piglet.
But, the voice echoed in her skull once again, how would he know something that he doesn’t have? Right?
Right. She quickly replied, “It means dick.” And ended the call.
Now, imagine having to deal with such a person every single day because you believe he is nice and wise, calls you ‘sweetheart,’ and even organizes dates like a hero in the cheesy, overwhelming rom-coms you watch. However, the truth is far more twisted and darker than you can comprehend. This is also one of the reasons behind miserable relationships, cheating, abuse, and so much more.
Invariably this applies to friendships as well. People who smile at your faces, listen to your sad stories, and cheer you when you are down can actually be the most insidious ones who prays to Satan for your downfall and they really love you until you actually start loving yourself.
Human beings are complex because each of them is a byproduct of their own set of traumas, experiences, beliefs, and self-proclaimed truths. With such a variety of people and an ever-changing fast life, one needs to learn the art of not giving a fuck. The fewer fucks you give, the happier you are.
Once you start living by this mantra, you’ll suddenly see just how much of your sanity you’ve been trading away to keep these people happy — how you’ve brushed your own needs aside like they were nothing, all to make hollow souls feel important. Spoiler alert: they don’t even have hearts. But here’s the twist: you’ll rise, unapologetically and fierce, while their little empires crumble into dust. And trust me, it’ll feel damn good.
Bottom line, don’t be a victim to mindfucks.
