A Prayer for Black and LGBTQ+ People Facing Fascism

Most High, you are the essence of restoration. I come against the enemy’s plans to steal, kill, and destroy the lives of Black and LGBTQ+ people. In Jesus name, I ask for the restoration of everything that has been taken from us. We claim our health, wealth, and joy.

We claim the cover of your protection that you promised us in Psalm 91:1,2. You said that they who dwell in the secret place of The Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, YOU are our refuge and our fortress and in the Most High we will trust.”

We ask for divine intercession in accordance with Psalm 35. “Plead our cause, oh Lord with those who strive against us. Take up shield and armor, arise and come to our aide. Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue us. Say to us, ‘I am your salvation.’

May those who seek our lives be disgraced and put to shame. May those who plot our ruin be turned back in dismay. May they be like chaff before the wind with the angel of the Lord driving them away.”

We request the company of the angels and the saints. We ask Arkangel St. Michael and St. Sebastian to encamp heavenly hosts around our Trans and Non-binary siblings as they are under siege. We have been unjustly persecuted for profit and hunted down for simply walking in the truth of ourselves for far too long. We cancel the enemy’s assignment right now.

We call the names of our legendary ancestors:

Barbara Jordan, Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvester, James Baldwin, Bayard Rustin, Audrey Lord, Alvin Ailey, Roxanne Gay, Bessie Smith, Octavia St. Laurent, Nikki Giovanni, and many others who stood with us in their lives. Please pray for us. We need you right now.

Protect and guide us this Pride month because this June is different. This June we march as champions, not as victims. This June we celebrate the victory. This June, we come back to ourselves. This June, we heal the disconnection within our communities. This June, we build our own tables. This June, we rise.
