Unexpectedly Unplugged is Discombobulating

I didn’t realize how much I depend on WiFi…

Why can’t I load websites? Why isn’t Netflix connecting, or my music playing? I’d just returned from an overnight work retreat and was eager to get back on Medium.

The OK button on my modem was red. Hmmm…

My provider walked me through different ways to make the fix.

Nothing worked.

I spent the entire evening wondering what the heck to do with myself. I didn’t have the desire to stitch, and wasn’t in the mood to write offline. Nor could I access any of my publications to edit from my phone. The silence was as loud as the waiting for a prospective boyfriend to call.

The tech spent three hours trying to find the problem today. No signal. Another more specialized team is coming tomorrow morning.

You don’t realize how dependent we are on WiFi until you don’t have it. I’m currently hot-spotting off my phone in desperation…
