A Battle Worth Fighting .. The Begining

I’m beginning this journey in honor of my Mother-in-Law, Terry, who passed away on September 30, 2017 after being hospitalized from May 05, 2017. A lot of the information contained in this blog…series..call it what you will, is very personal, and honestly it’s pretty fucking scary. And I’d like to start off by saying I’m enraged at how someone could fall through the cracks like this and be overlooked by so many people. Her death was 100% preventable (in my opinion), and I feel that someone needs to be held accountable for what led up to, and I feel, what ultimately caused her passing. It’s graphic, and I’ll be honest when I say there will be adult language, because to say I am pissed off would be a complete and total understatement. And if nothing else comes of this other than raising awareness to others that may be going through this, or may have family members or friends going through the same situation my Mother-in-law dealt with every single day for the last 30 years…well, I’ll be satisfied. She deserves that much, and damn it, there are so many people and establishments that owe her so much more than that. The least I can do is tell her story, and I think she’d be okay with that. With that being said, be prepared to be shocked, disgusted, and disappointed in the Entities who are appointed to help the elderly and those with disabilities. I would not believe it if I had not witnessed it myself. Negligence. Ignorance. Laziness. I don’t know what the reason is that this went ignored for so long, but I fully intend to find out, and I’m not going to stop until I do.
