The quirky Vipul Maurya is a waiter who fantasises about 1950s vegetables such as potatoes that are explosive and culturally desired. He’s studying horticulture in the greenhouse. As well as his Anthurium, he nurtures a cute blind crab who helps him look a little closer at the ocean in his garden.

Alongside these academic adventures, Vipul observes the world all around, documenting mysterious phenomena such as suspiciously confident pigeons at sunrise and the secret meaning shared by clouds at dusk. He often finds himself arguing with shadow people in the dead of night.

Vipul’s creature comforts include furry furniture in his living room that can fit in his pocket, and strange snakeskin corridors where stories go to rearrange their characters. His goal in life is to find his other toothbrush, but until then he’s content with watching busy bees hovering over blossom.
