Shadowfax Technologies
Two months ago, I told my better half, “Buy 100 shares of Shadowfax.” Listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in January 2026, it traded at around Rs. 106 per share, lower than its opening price.
Why Shadowfax? she asked.
Logistics is my firm bet. Without logistics, we won’t exist. Particularly after COVID-19, which made us super lazy. Everything is delivered at the doorstep. We have not emerged from that habit. Unlikely so in the near future. Or, forever. Shadowfax is a logistics service provider. Therefore, ….
Secondly, it was a recently listed company, quoted below its opening price. Thirdly, my quantity is puny.
A fortnight ago, a friend called up seeking help to “place” one of his relatives in a logistics company. Subsequently, when the job-seeker (JS) called after sharing his CV, the mention of “Shadowfax” in it caught my attention, rekindling my interest in my new “acquisition.”
The obvious question: why does the JS want to quit?
The company’s focus is more on D2C, whereas his forte and brief were B2B. His career growth prospects, he felt, were uncool. Presto, looking for green pastures.
Well, that made me check the stock performance of my investment in Shadowfax.
“Shadowfax Technologies (NSE: SHADOWFAX or SADO) traded in a range of ₹211.51 to ₹230.00 during the past 7 days. The stock closed near ₹222.15, demonstrating upward momentum as the logistics and hyperlocal delivery sector scales operations and posts notable full-year revenue growth,” said Simply Wall St on the day India clashed with Afghanistan for the dead rubber (Third ODI in Chennai).

“High growth potential with solid track record” and “No risks detected for Shadowfax from our risk checks” convinced me that my judgment was not bad. For the time being.
My spouse is a solid ICICI Direct client. She dug up the site to know more about Shadowfax, and for the second time, she said: “Your choice was good.” What she meant was that my first good choice was to select her as my better half! Jokes apart, this is what ICICI Direct opined:

Meanwhile, a quick check on Morningstar raised a pertinent question: Is it nearing its peak?

Morningstar predicts the year range of Rs. 99.85 to Rs. 230. For the week ending 19 June 2026, it closed at Rs. 222. The year’s peak of Rs. 230 is close by. Besides, it is overvalued (31% premium)!
Noticing the wrinkles on my forehead, my spouse shared this from ICICIDirect:

Having said that, another concern arose regarding the low promoter holding. Founders Abhishek Bansal and Vaibhav Khandelwal reportedly hold 16.59%. Though technically low, analysts point out that the remaining shares are held by reputable domestic and global institutional investors. There is no guarantee they will hold their stakes forever. Of course, there ought to be some lock-in period for them. It does not mean they will unload lock, stock and barrel on the expiry of the lock-in period. They may unload partially, if they wish. Such expiry is around the corner in July and extends up to early 2027, analysts point out. What does it mean? Price volatility depends on the size of the unloading and prevailing market sentiment.
“Look, if you are so harried, sell off now where your investment value has doubled and put it in a bank fixed deposit. It will be safe!” reprimanded a friend.
“Don’t worry. Mein hu na?”, assured my better half. She knows “better”.
Quietly, she asked: What’s your next bet?
The US and Iran might have smoked the peace pipe, but the world is still in the grip of war. There is no end in sight to the war in Ukraine. I am sceptical about Israel abandoning its Lebanon focus! Atmanirbhar gaining currency in domestic defence production, and the export of Indian wares is prompting me to examine this new growth area, alongside the renewable energy vertical.
I’m Thinking Ahead! Nothing to do with Shadowfax’s tagline!
