Rainbows

There are always rainbows if you pay attention

Rainbows are a good metaphor for how we get through our lives. At least I think so. If you look for them, you’ll find them.

You know I’m big on perspective. This is another reminder that perspective applies to more than photography. It’s how we choose to live and see our lives.

Did it rain while we were at the Grand Canyon? Yep. Did we let it ruin our evening? Nope. We were already done for the day and wanted to grab something to eat and drink at the nearby lodge. We got our drinks, headed outside to sit near a fire pit and it started raining.

We sat for a bit with our hoods up. It was a light rain. In the end, we popped over to this parking lot area, went into the store and picked up stuff for dinner in our room. When we walked out, we were greeted by this amazing rainbow.

I don’t remember where this was. It worked for another color theme I used to take part in quite a few years ago. It was a ROYGBIV challenge. Each day of the week was another color. Then we ended it with Rainbow.

For several years, I ran a photography photowalk group in and around Chicago. One of the outings we went on was to a Chicago neon shop. It was so interesting, the owner was gracious with his time and knowledge and we got some really cool images.

It may have been Pride Month a few years ago when I went to Toronto. This was a beautiful display at Nathan Phillips Square.

This is likely one of the most recognizable airport passageways. If you fly out of O’Hare on United Airlines, you may end up here.

It’s beautiful and mesmerizing. Can’t you hear ‘Rhapsody In Blue’ by George Gershwin playing?

Try as she might, my mom never got me hooked on sewing, embroidery or cross stitch. I’d find fun patterns, start and she always finished them.
