Mohan Babu University Students Shine at IBM National Hackathon 2025

At Mohan Babu University (MBU), we take pride in fostering innovation, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving among our students. This commitment was once again recognized on a national platform when three of our final-year B.Tech Computer science and engineering (CSE) students — Rahul Kothuri, Lakshmi Banka, and R. Charishma — emerged as the winners of the IBM National Hackathon 2025.

Competing against 130 teams from 40+ universities across India, our students impressed the judges with a C++-based airline reservation prototype that balanced technical precision with practical industry relevance. Their project was praised for its creativity, teamwork, and scalable design — qualities that reflect the best of MBU’s academic environment.

Beyond the technology, this achievement is a story of collaboration and leadership.

• Rahul leveraged his strengths in cloud and DevOps to design concurrency models and integration layers.
• Lakshmi brought her expertise in machine learning and security to shape the dynamic pricing logic.
• Charishma applied her skills in analytics and data visualisation to deliver meaningful insights for users.

Together, they transformed their individual strengths into a winning solution that stood out nationally.
