HUX AI Monthly Highlights — January 2026 Edition

Accelerating AI, Deepening Risks, and the New Reality of Governance

Hello everyone,

January marked a turning point for **HUX AI**: the rapid advancement of AI has made risk, trust, and governance immediate operational concerns, no longer theoretical. Every meeting underscored this shift as AI systems become more autonomous, complex, and invisible.

This month, **HUX AI** examined both our actions and the underlying reasons, focusing on how new LLMs and agentic AI systems expose gaps in current governance and risk models. This realisation deepened our commitment to bridging the “slowing trust versus accelerating technology” divide.

A Strategic Focus for HUX AI

Throughout January, our work was centred on a single question: As AI systems gain more decision-making authority, will organisations truly be able to bear the responsibility for these decisions?

This question led us to prepare and submit new projects focused on governance and risk assessment in the context of LLM and agentic AI. In particular, the uncertainties introduced by multi-agent systems into decision-making processes necessitate a rethink of accountability, traceability, and intervention mechanisms. January clearly demonstrated that this need is no longer a “future scenario,” but a current operational problem.

At the same time, we took a significant step towards our goal of developing more concrete and applicable tools in AI safety. We are continuing our work on a new LLM safety tool, planned for open-source release, that centres on PII, masking, and context awareness. In this process, together with **Enes Basbug, [Hayriye Anıl](2)** and samitugal we focused on creating a solution that is not only technically correct but also practically adoptable and integrated with governance.

For us, these studies provide a clear answer to the question, “Is governance a document or a living system?” At HUX AI, governance is not limited to policy texts, but is treated as a competency that must be directly embedded within systems.

5 Key Takeaways from Davos

The strongest global signals of January came from Davos. This year, discussions on AI governance clearly moved from the “principle” level to the “implementation” level in Davos.

1. AI Agents Need a New Accountability Architecture

Multi-agent systems are now being integrated into core business processes. However, organisational governance structures have not evolved at this pace. Loss of trust stems not from technical errors, but from the inability to explain who is responsible for decisions.

2. Shadow AI is More Than Just a Corporate Risk: A Trust Crisis

The use of unauthorised and invisible AI is not just an IT security issue. Trust cannot be built without visibility and accountability. This creates a societal risk area, especially for children and young people.

3. Sovereign AI: Not Just an Infrastructure Issue, But a Values Issue

The Sovereign AI discussions at Davos highlight that countries need not only computer and data independence, but also… It also reflects the desire to protect cultural and social values. Sovereignty is not a single technical solution; it’s about context-sensitive design.

4. Uniform AI Policies Don’t Work

Healthcare, finance, education, or retail… Every sector has a different risk profile. “One-size-fits-all” regulations create compliance burdens instead of managing real risks. Context-sensitive governance is no longer a choice but a necessity.

5. We Need Trustworthy and Effective AI Stories

Talking about the risks was necessary. But now it’s time to make visible examples of AI that reliably create value. Trust is built along with measurable impact.

Webinar Highlights: AI-Powered Problem Solving and Agentic LLMs

At the beginning of January, we held a webinar that was especially significant for HUX AI. Our CEO, Ayyüce Kızrak, Ph.D. , participated in the webinar organised by **Turkishe an organisation aiming to empower young women in technology and AI. This event, which addressed over 600 young women aged 18–25, focused on agentic LLMs under the title “AI-Powered Problem Solving.”**

This webinar was more than just a technical training session. The discussions deepened along three key axes:

  • Why are agentic LLMs not only more powerful models but also more accountable? Participants explored how the human role in decision-making processes is evolving with these systems.
  • The difference between automation and reasoning in problem-solving
  • The distinction between AI “generating answers” and “asking the right question” created a critical awareness, especially for the young participants.
  • Is AI literacy a career advantage or a fundamental civic skill? This question brought the technical content of education into a social context.

This webinar for HUX AI reaffirmed that AI literacy is a fundamental building block for building trust, not only for institutions but for society as a whole. Governance is only possible with individuals who understand and can question.

What Does the Next Month Mean?

In a few new webinars, we’ll be discussing the tools we’ve developed and the new projects we’re working on. On the other hand, you can stay up-to-date on all our work by subscribing to our newsletter.

In January, we thought together, discussed, and clarified our direction a little more. This journey is not just HUX AI’s; it’s a shared journey for everyone who believes in a reliable, responsible, and effective AI ecosystem.

Where do you see the most critical gap in this transformation: technology, governance, or human capacity?

We look forward to seeing you again next month.
