The unique career of being a designer

A bit about me

Hi, I’m Omaid, I think about design a lot. I think about users and design even before I knew UX/UI was a career path, I remember watching tv shows and playing games and always being critical and talking about how I would change the approach to make it funnier or interesting, or more understandable for the audience, my family mistaken my ideas for being a critic on something that already exists. I remember being so fed up with episodes of SpongeBob particularly that I would get 5 pages of paper write out stories, staple them and have them as stand-alone episodes I remember doing this daily for many shows on tv such as The Simpsons, Pokemon, Naruto, Spongebob, Batman, I would make 6–7 books a week from the age of 5–11. I would rewrite episodes and create settings and characters often. That is just a little bit about myself.

My brother & the point

My brother and his wife are architects these guys are designer designers, from a simple conversation with them I can tell that they are constantly inspired by everything around them from the simplest to the extremely creative ideas around them. They both went to a private art school and its fascinating to find that with a designer no one is trained to find inspiration, or they are not simply taught a taste level nor anything of that nature designers are told to take in information and uniquely produce something that is part of them. They must put who they are, which includes life experience, emotions, and who they are into their work. You give 5 designers one task you will get 5 different responses, imagine Van Gogh and Picasso drawing a smiley face both results will be different and unique yet one is not better than the other it’s fascinating that designers are not taught to do things a certain way they are well known because of their unorthodox approach.
