Release 1 — Initial Launch — Personalization and Discovery

Release 1 marks the initial launch of our new app, focusing on providing essential features for readers to personalize their experience and discover new books. This release aims to establish a foundation for future enhancements and user engagement.

Key Features:

1. Profile Customization and Log In/Sign Up:

· Users can personalize their profiles by uploading profile pictures, editing their bio, and selecting favorite reading genres.

· This feature fulfills the user story 0001 — “As a reader, I want to customize my profile in the app to match my personal preferences and interests.”

2. Book Search Functionality:

· Implemented a robust search feature allowing users to search for books by genres and author names.

· Search results are presented in a visually appealing layout for easy book discovery.

· This feature aligns with user story 0002 “As a reader, I want to search books by genres and author names so that I can find my favorite books.”

3. Personal Book Collection:

· Users can create and manage their personal book collections within the app.

· Features include downloading soft copies, grouping books into collections books, and accessing downloaded books offline.

· This feature corresponds to user story 0003 “As a reader, I want a dedicated space within the app to store my personal book collection so that I can easily access and manage my books.”

4. Discussion Forum Participation:

· Created UI elements such as text input fields, buttons for posting comments, and options for creating new discussion threads to facilitate user participation in discussion forums.

· Developed functionality for searching and joining discussion groups, allowing users to engage with topics of interest and connect with other readers.

· This feature fulfills user story 0004: “As a reader, I want to give my inputs in discussion forum, so that I can understand the perspective of others regarding various topics.”

5. Book Club Participation:

· Developed functionality for users to discover and join book clubs, enabling them to share and receive ideas based on their reading interests.

· Users can create virtual meetings (audio/video) within book clubs to discuss books with other members.

· Incorporated a poll system where users can vote for which book to read next, enhancing the collaborative aspect of book clubs.

· This feature corresponds to user story 0005: “As a reader, I want to be part of book clubs, so that I can share and receive ideas based on my reading interest.”

6. Q&A Sessions with Authors:

· Developed features to enable users to receive invitations from authors to attend live Q&A sessions.

· Designed user-driven question submission and search feature, allowing users to engage with authors and ask questions about their stories.

· Developed video and audio features to attend sessions within the app, providing users with a view from the author’s perspective to the story.

· This feature aligns with user story 0006: “As a reader, I want to attend live Q&A sessions with authors, so that I can get a view from their perspective to the story.”

Release 2 — Enhanced Reading Experience

Release 2 marks a significant milestone in our app’s journey, where we introduce enhanced features to provide users with a more personalized and enriching reading experience. Building upon the foundation laid in Release 1, we have incorporated user feedback and introduced innovative functionalities to meet the evolving needs of our readers.

Key Features:

1. Book Suggestions, Recommendations, Ratings, and Reviews:

· Personalized recommendations sections have been integrated into the app’s homepage, providing tailored book suggestions based on user preferences and reading history.

· Users now have the ability to rate books they’ve read and leave reviews, contributing valuable feedback to the reading community.

· Interactive features such as ‘like’ or ‘dislike’ buttons have been added to enable users to provide feedback on book recommendations.

· This feature aligns with user story 0007: “As a reader, I want to receive suggestions, recommendations, ratings, and reviews, so that I can find books that I may be interested in.”

2. Customized Reading Experience:

· UI components have been developed to allow users to customize their reading experience by adjusting font size, style, line spacing, color themes, and language preferences.

· A text-to-speech engine has been implemented, enabling users to convert text into spoken audio for improved accessibility and enjoyment.

· This feature corresponds to user story 0008: “As a reader, I want to customize my reading experience so that I can tailor it to my preferences and enjoy a more personalized interaction.”

3. Reading Progress Tracking:

· New features have been introduced to track reading progress, including the display of current page number, percentage completed, and other relevant information on the current book.

· Visual elements such as progress bars, charts, or graphs have been incorporated to visually represent reading progress, aiding users in understanding their reading habits.

· Notifications are now sent to remind users to read and celebrate milestones completed, fostering motivation and goal achievement.

· This feature addresses user story 0009: “As a reader, I want to track my reading progress to better understand my reading habits and set personal goals.”

Furthermore, because the Agile process is iterative, we were able to modify and refine our strategy in response to changing needs and input. This iterative method guaranteed that the finished product satisfied our consumers’ needs and expectations while also facilitating continued development.
