Honey has been used as a sweetening ingredient in many dishes since ancient times. It has been featured in the mythology of many civilizations and has been given great importance in many religions in the world. Honey has been widely used for medicinal purposes to heal cuts and burns. It was valued so much that it was given to kings as gifts. Honey was also used as a preservative agent for the dead, giving it a symbolic value. Since it contains antioxidants, it can improve our body’s immunity to many illnesses and can prevent fatal ones. Honey mixed with lemon can cure coughs and colds. It contains many vitamins and minerals and improves athletic performance as it can help maintain blood sugar levels, encouraging muscle recuperation. Honey mixed with milk can help create smooth skin. It can also increase weight loss as it contains sugars that reduce cravings.
