A morning in Woodland Gardens

I went to meet the Sun today I saw him blaze, did you? Then, noisy little lorikeets And sulphur -crested cockatoos sang choruses of lyrical odes.

Ducks and ducklings not to be outdone, stood all, in a row eager to salute the rising morn.

They prayed a prayer of gratitude that echoed in my heart As dewdrops glittered gumtrees swayed ripples shivered across the face of the placid pond…

was it the water that murmured, ‘Hallelujah’?
