Contrast in Time
There was a time, once there was color,
Contrast in Time
There was a time, once there was color,

Years ago and days of another.
When day and night were ever free,
And times like now could never be.
We were young, and could not fall,
But right and wrong were held by all.
Light and dark, the same you see,
Some differences would forever be.
Mine is mine, and yours is yours,
So now opposed, so closed the doors.
We seem to know, but really don’t,
They say they will, we say they won’t.
Our view more narrow, our senses so slight,
Now black is black, and white is white.
Remember the colors, so important, so small,
They add just a little, yet stand so tall.
We know they are there, somewhere down deep,
We reach for them, at times as we sleep.
Variations of light, reflections of pain,
The colors we miss, the colors we blame.
Tomorrow will be, a time so close,
We have but an instant, we are but a ghost.
Today we see, no way to amend,
We long for the light, with colors and blends.
But a day will come, when rainbows are seen,
Their tones and their hues, and all in between.
