Halloween Arrives Early to Michaels Stores for 2026

A review of Michaels craft store’s 2026 Halloween decorations

With Halloween somehow becoming more popular in recent time, stores are stocking their shelves with spooky decor and merchandise even earlier this year.

The craft store chain Michaels has always been a go-to stop every Halloween season. While I don’t get into spooky shopping until August, I had to check out the latest drops that arrived in July. With even more themes this year, 2026 season offers six collections: Hallowed Halls, Vintage Spirits, Enchanted Romance, Mischief & Magic, Bound by Magic, and Conjuring Nightfall.

Hallowed Halls

Hallowed Halls is one of the most fascinating collections this year. Featuring pieces that evoke a haunted manor and spooky lounge, it’s a refreshing take on gothic home decor. From artwork with dapper animals drinking alcohol to birds with mirrors in place of their heads, Hallowed Halls has some elegance along with oddities. Items like a wine rack, cocktail table, or the spiderweb lamp would get your home ready for a spooky soiree.

Vintage Spirits

Vintage Spirits is my favorite collection of 2026 by far. I love traditional black-and-orange and the early 20th century style of classic Halloween icons. The pumpkin, skeleton, and cat characters appearing in wall decor, bowls, and pillows are full of whimsy and nostalgia. There’s also a carnival theme which adds to the fun, featuring items like ring toss, soda crates, and vintage-style banners.

Enchanted Romance

Michaels is no stranger to gothic and writer-inspired decor. Enchanted Romance combines both with inspirations from moody, Shakespearean tales of star-crossed love. While not explicitly Halloween, many of these pieces would fit a gothic aesthetic. I like the red and blacks along with hearts and daggers which evoke a vampiric and Valloween vibe. And if you’re a fan of Shakespeare, he’s here too.

Mischief & Magic

Michaels can’t stay away from the pinks, pastels, and disco. Like last year’s Sweet and Spooky collection, Mischief & Magic is the latest iteration of this aesthetic, taking inspiration from the 70s. This was one of the first lines released and works if you’re going for a Summerween vibe. Although I preferred last year’s Y2K goth influence, Mischief & Magic is a little brighter and garish. While it’s not my style, and I question why some items like the rotary phones, sneakers, and ice cream are Halloween-related. Nonetheless, the vintage-looking nutcrackers and the spooky juice pillow were fun finds.

Bound by Magic

Bound by Magic is a fascinating collection centered around astrology, tarot, and mysticism. If you’re doing a fortune telling theme for your home, it’s a fitting option. While it doesn’t evoke Halloween specifically, I appreciate the strong theming with the the Zodiac signs, celestial imagery, as well as items featuring magic tricks and famous magicians like Houdini.

Conjuring Nightfall

Michaels always features witchy decor. After last year’s shimmery and galaxy-coded Iridescent Moon, I’m grateful for the return to a darker palette with Conjuring Nightfall. As a fan of witches in general, this one is a highlight. While it’s not drastically unique from previous years, it offers a chance for you to refresh your space with classic witchy imagery like black cats, cauldrons, and broomsticks.

Whether you’re drawn to bright and playful décor or a more gothic and spooky vibe, Michaels’ Halloween collections continue to offer a variety of options for spooky enthusiasts. If you’re planning on decorating for Halloween, consider checking out your local store this season.
