A Family Affair Was a Very Cute Rom-Com

Zac Efron’s new Netflix movie, A Family Affair was adorable. It also starred Joey King, Liza Koshy, Kathy Bates and Nicole Kidman as the woman he had his eyes on during the film.

It’s about Zara, a hardworking assistant to an absolute jerk of a boss, Chris Cole, played by Efron. When Zara quits and he goes to her house to grovel, he finds her hot mom.

They strike up an affair together and jump through hoops so that Zara doesn’t find out. Of course when she does find out, she has to open her heart to Chris.

Without spoiling anything, it was a great movie.

However, it should’ve come out five or so months later than it actually did.

In the movie, Chris gets invited to Christmas dinner with Kathy Bates’ character, the grandmother in the whole dynamic. What I must have missed during the trailer and various celebrities’ promotional posts was that this was a Christmas movie.

So maybe I’ll watch this again at Christmas time.
