I have started with introductory episodes in the Age of Disasters and History Foundational, one thing I found very interesting is that each idea and each topic has some interlinkage with some other ideas.

1. The concept of Environment, Ecology, Ecosystem, Biome and Biosphere with current affairs.

2. Linking History, Geography and Economics, in terms of trade, major events and even climatic conditions.

3. Interdependence of various Scientific and Technology concepts with daily working and even functioning of normal lives. (Strait Hormuz Issues leading to problems in some regions in Madhya Pradesh or some other region not even close to it.)

4. Indian History influenced by its Geography — I would like to give some thoughts on this, (coming from Maharashtra, the Sahaydri ranges really tells us some stories about the history) as a matter of fact, the entire idea of the Maratha Empire was sort of built on these ranges. Their location and height made it difficult for other empires to tackle them and win battles, due to this many battles were in the favour of the Maratha Empire during their conflict with the Mughals, the Bijapur dynasty and many more.

(These mountain ranges are one of the inspiration behind ‘Guerilla’ tactics used by Marathas and also their grand climatic conditions was one of the main reasons behind the end times of Mughal Dynasty, leading to the inevitable rise of the Maratha Empire)

I know I am a bit ambitious/ borderline crazy to join Misfits on the 13th April, having already applied for the Prelims 2026, without much of a foundational base. But yes, I am also excited to prepare myself as much as possible, keep my concepts strong and just give it a go.

This excitement and urge to learn comes from your videos and the very idea of ‘civil services’, where service is the way to live and realize that ‘freedom’ comes at a cost, and this beautiful country deserves to experience it along with its citizens.
