How to use Web Services in VBCS !

A legacy system ☁️ may have only web services for communication. But Oracle VBCS does not support web services in connections. It supports only API.🦁

Web service is used for REST, SOAP, and XML-RPC for communication and supports XML.

All Web services are APIs, but all APIs are not web services.

As per my SOA understanding💡, We should not use SOAP directly in VBCS but we can use Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) as middleware to communicate with SOAP. OIC has an inbuilt SOAP adapter for web services.

Create OIC Client API Integration Flow🐪:

1. Create SOAP connection using SOAP Adapter
2. Create app driven integration and use OIC_REST as trigger.
3. OIC will receive requests from VBCS applications and It will route the request to SOAP.
