Here come the Monsters, Part 1!!
It has been long awaited; we are finally here to introduce the first set of cards for the Atmosphere Play-2-Earn NFT collectible trading card game.
The Monsters are big and slow but hit hard and heavy. They are the current inhabitants of the planet and will fight to the end to protect their available resources for survival. The life forms that we have come to know and cohabitate with have mutated, evolved into dangerous creatures. They are much more intelligent and much more ferocious. They bring toxic ailments of the wild and are not afraid to win at all costs. In this series, we will do the card reveals for the Monster base set that will be available at game launch.
As a deck builder game there are rules to how you can build your deck. As a reminder, you will have 20 cards in your deck. You can include up to 3 copies of a common, 2 copies of a rare and 1 copy of an ultra rare. You will be able to collect these cards buy using your ATMSSFT token to pick up booster packs from the NFT shop.
While we are excited to provide these card reveals and spoilers for what is to come, please be advised that card stats and rarity are subject to change as we get going on game testing and balancing!
As we get into the various card reveals, there will be attributes and abilities that will also come with the cards. We will be able to start to introduce those as well. And, at this time, the cards are not all fully named, so we will go with either numbering or some obvious characteristics as is the case with the Monsters.
Cards also have an attack range, Melee and Ranged. Ranged cards can attack from anywhere to anywhere. Melee cards can only attack enemies directly in front of them. The melee card must clear all enemies on the row directly in front of them before they can attack enemies in the back row. But as long as they have a clear shot, the can still hit the enemy leader.
Let’s get right to it. Here are the first two Monster card reveals.

Crocodile, our first Rare card, will have an energy cost of 5 to deploy. It packs a great punch and can hold his own with a 6/6 body. With this card we introduce the “Engage” mechanic. In general, cards cannot attack the same turn that they are played into the game. However, if they have the Engage ability, they get the advantage to attack when they are played into the game. Crocodile is one of the few Monsters that bring a little bit of speed and as a result, gets the Engage ability — with the Melee attack range.

Not all creatures of the wild have four legs and can run at you. Some, sit idly by waiting for an unsuspecting passer-by to walk within their reach. The common level Venus Fly Trap is just one of those creatures. The wild plant will cost 3 energy points to deploy and will sting the opponent with 4 damage while boasting a modest 3 HP of its own. With this card, we introduce another new mechanic: Poison. Poison will affect one or more enemy cards by slowly depleting their HP each turn. When played from hand, the Fly Trap will apply a 3x poison to an enemy of your choosing! On the following turn, if this toxic plan has not been killed, it can attack melee style.
That is all we will show today, stay tuned for the next card reveal! Join our discord for more spoilers and up to date information on the project progress!
Note: All card descriptions at this time are preliminary and subject to change.
