Jamie Lee Curtis Rumored to Debut in Ruby Gillman 2, Alongside Marsai Martin; Andy Serkis to Return as Gollum in New LOTR Film; Javier Bardem

While what is her name iconically voiced Grandmama/Grandmother Gertrude Gillman in the hit 2023 DWA film, Ruby Gillman, it is rumored that Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, Borderlands, The Haunted Mansion, Christmas with the Cranks, Freaky Friday) will replace the female actor somehow for its future 2026 sequel. In fact, Marsai Martin (PAW Patrol, Spirit, Little Woman, Blackish) might debut in the said sequel as well, possibly as one of Chelsea aka Nerissa’s mermaid allies. Therefore, it is highly undoubted that like the rest of her kin, Chelsea will reform. It has happened with Queen Barb in Trolls: World Tour (2020) and the Bettermans in The Croods 2 (2021). For now, mainly Ruby Gillman 2’s recasting of Gertrude remains unconfirmed. It could also be the first DWA film project involving Martin and McKenna Grace (Just Beyond, ID: Resurgence, Gifted, Ghostbusters) since Spirit (2021) (not counting the PAW Patrol films from Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures).

On the other hand, as a new LOTR movie titled Hunt for Gollum has been recently confirmed, it will reprise Andy Serkis (Star Wars, LOTR, Flushed Away, Batman, Black Panther, The Avengers: Age of Ultron) as the iconic villain since The Hobbit Trilogy. He will also direct the movie, unlike Peter Jackson (director, King Kong, LOTR, The Hobbit). At the moment, Hunt for Gollum has no official RD (yet).

DUNE, The Little Mermaid, F1, No Country for Ole Men, Monsters, POTC, and Lyle Croc’s Javier Bardem may not only debut in one of the future Dark Pictures titles, The Craven Man (2026) (as rumored), but also, he might debut as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter TV series of the films’ same name, set in the 1990s, compared to the titular film series. Thus, it could derive some elements from the books rather than the movies. Unlike his film counterpart, Bardem’s version of Snape could be more Latino Euro/Spanish than Brit.
