Am I British?

Thanks to Gioconda Beekman for the photo.
I’m going to try and distil this down for you. Me gran’s family were from Skye, but she married in England and trained as a court clerk — the one that advises magistrates on the law. Me grandpa were English through and through. Until you go back to 1066 when our Norman ancestors invaded. He were a man of his time and thought migrants should be put on a boat and sailed home! A rule that didn’t apply to him when he moved to Spain. Opa’s trajectory were more straightforward. He were born in England, brought up in Belgium, returned to fight in the British Army, and spoke eight languages. Oma were Austrian and relocated with Opa to the UK. Folk mistook her for German ’cause of her accent. I kenned her as the creative one for she won prizes for dancing the tango, and would burst out with song. I were born in Wales, brought up in Scotland, bounced from place to place and married a Frenchman. So, to answer your question, aye, I’m as British as it gets.
Author’s note: Bit of creative writing for story prompt British.
