Living at the Crossroads of Identity. When identity is layered and complex, true justice means allowing every part of a person to exist without being reduced or simplified. In today’s world, identity is often treated as something simple and fixed. People are placed into categories such as gender, race, class, religion, or culture, as if a single label can define an entire human being. However, real life is far more complex. Every person carries multiple identities at the same time, and these identities shape how they experience the world. This is what is known as intersectionality.
