Swans, Tulips, and a Magnolia Welcome: Spring in Stryiskyi Park

On sunny spring days, when you want a calm walk surrounded by nature — and for free — a park is the best option.

In Lviv, I personally like Stryiskyi Park more than others, mostly because of the lake with swans.

Right from the start, the park feels welcoming. Arches and a big white magnolia greet visitors as if they were placed there on purpose.

As you walk closer to the lake, you’ll spot crocuses and hyacinths adding small touches of color along the way.

Near the lake, there’s also a small greenhouse with birds and fish — easy to find and perfect if you don’t have much time.

This short lower-park route already gives you a full spring mood without much walking, and it’s perfect for early spring when these flowers bloom.

If it’s mid-spring, the upper part of the park is in bloom, and you can choose a second short walk or combine both into one longer route.

If you combine them, it’s best to start near Franko’s house and finish by the arches. There you’ll find what is probably the most beautiful magnolia in the city. Its pink blossoms attract a lot of people every spring.

From there, you can head toward another entrance of Stryiskyi Park and follow the main alley.

Along the way, there’s a fountain and places to grab ice cream, croissants, or even some cherry liqueur.

You’ll also pass a red tower and the children’s railway. It used to run on weekends, and riding it was always a fun experience.

In the upper part of the park, there’s a large area filled with tulips. When they bloom, it’s easily one of the most beautiful spots in the whole park.

The tulip “carpet” in Stryiskyi Park is the best spot to see these flowers in Lviv.
