Built a custom module for 3D Slicer called Fast Segment Builder.
The main goal was to speed up repetitive multi-segment threshold segmentation workflows while protecting previously created structures from accidental overwriting.
Key features:
- Persistent custom segmentation buttons using
QSettings - Independent thresholding for each segment
- Protected multi-segment editing using
OverwriteNone - Automatic logical subtraction between overlapping segments
- Optimized for multi-organ CT/MRI datasets
One of the biggest frustrations in standard threshold workflows is accidentally corrupting existing segments during iterative editing. This module solves that by enforcing protected overwrite behavior during segmentation operations.
