Coding Week 08: Gsoc’23 With OPenMRS 3.x

It’s been two months of coding with OpenMRS. Out of the twelve coding weeks, we are done with eight weeks. It’s very exciting to see the project come together week by week. Let’s get onto this week’s updates and here’s last week’s blog in case you want to catch up.

Upload diagrams/images to the drawing panel We can now load an image asyncronously to the drawing/annoatation panel/tool. It turns out that these images can either be fetched from openmrs attachment API with association to a patient, or an image can be uploaded from the drawing panel and saved to a specific patient. That was the feature I have been working on to upload an image from the drawing tool.

Am finalizing the work to make a preview of the image when it uploaded or selected, meaning it needs to replace the currently active image.

Next up is to trigger an event from the attacments image preview to allow opening the annotation tools, then allowing saving back the image to the attachments for specific patient. This is the draft PR that provides the outline of tasks; https://github.com/openmrs/openmrs-esm-draw-app/pull/3
