I coded myself into a corner

Trying to make an ASCII UI for pySpice, and a world-changing war started

It took a lot of guts to get this far, and claim I could auto generate all the nodes from any circuit written in ASCII, common lines of component symbols and dashes, slashes, for connections.

Got to the point where my self rolled algorithm connected all test-case components redundantly and now have to reduce the mountain of associations to just 7 nodes as per the example circuit.

The point of this exercise was to eventually chain on circuit stages or to simulate variants of a circuit stage effortlessly, knowing it’s all in a simple text file that is easy to edit on the fly.

Unfortunately, now, at the last hurdle, I may have painted myself into a corner.

I’m not a computer science grad so I don’t really know what computers do best. I usually put stuff in a list / array and loop over it. This is my almost universal answer to any problem. It’s past 10pm and the deadline looms nearer. I have just a few more hours to hopefully not kludge my way thru the final stage of the final app I make.

Okay, so each component has 2 nodes, in, and out. These nodes are shared (numerically the same) with possibly any other component, duplicates of the original component itself.

IMHO, a recursive tunneling function could do the donkey work. Take component X. If eOUT of X equals eIN of A, then, they are connected. Mark it down, say- 10. Then if eOUT of X equals eIN of B and it is 9, reduce 10 to 9. Keep reducing until it reaches zero. Then onto the next component.

I would like to speak on the war just started in the Middle East last night (Malaysian time). The weapons are much deadlier than in any previous Zionist-Arab conflicts and, with Pakistan, China, and Russia chipping in, and Europe getting involved with zeal, we’re looking at a potential tactical nuclear 3rd World War in a matter of days, not weeks. We are looking at a potential removal of the temple mount structures as well, perhaps as part of a teary eyed peace deal. I will be most interested in the latter as it heralds the 70th week of Daniel, the final 7 years of man’s dominion on earth.

Not so lucky for my Python interface if I am not more methodical. An hour till midnight. Feeling weary, having taken the train to Kuala Lumpur this morning with Dad. We had a good nasi lemak and coconut coffee. I bought a small terrarium. Rehydrating is important. Somehow, the weather has been sapping our moisture of late and my sandals got ripped along with a presumed nicking of our car’s license plate. These are strange times.
