Have you ever wanted your users to have one Display Name internally… and a completely “clean” one externally?

If you’re using Exchange Online you can actually do this with a simple PowerShell tweak.🧐

First, enable the feature at the organization level by modifying the Default Remote Domain:

Set-RemoteDomain Default -UseSimpleDisplayName $true

Then, define the external display name for a specific mailbox:

Set-mailbox yasser@*****.com -SimpleDisplayName “Yasser Hussein”

This allows you to control how users appear to external recipients — without changing their internal Display Name.
