Would it be faster? Safer? Maybe smarter?

Sure, but more than that, what would it feel like?

Would it feel like a transaction? Or a conversation?

We all use chat every day.

But in P2P, have you ever stopped to think about what chat is supposed to be?

Right now, most of it isn’t great.

It’s just another inbox. Messages float around with no real context.

You talk here, check product info somewhere else, and maybe copy a link or two.

That’s not what peer-to-peer should feel like.

If anything, chat should be the center of it all.

It’s where trust forms, where deals are made, and where everything happens in one continuous flow.

That idea became the starting point for our first Fix Log: Chat, rebuilt for real P2P.

The Heartbeat of P2P

At OVERTAKE, we’ve never seen peer-to-peer as just a transaction type. It’s a human interaction, a moment where trust, intent, and value move between two people who might never meet. If that’s true, then chat isn’t a background feature.

It’s the heartbeat. The space where everything connects: conversation, context, and completion. Every great trade starts with a message. A buyer asks, a seller responds, and a deal begins to take shape.

But in most marketplaces, that conversation is treated like an afterthought when it should be the center of the experience.

That belief shaped our first ongoing improvement: FIX LOG 1: Chat, rebuilt for real P2P.

The Problem: Fragmented Conversations

During our beta, we noticed something important. Users weren’t just struggling with listings or escrow. They were struggling with communication flow. Every deal required constant context switching.

Buyers had to jump between chats and listings just to confirm what they were even talking about. Sellers juggled multiple buyers in a single inbox, without knowing which conversations were tied to active trades.

And when something went wrong, they had to leave the chat to find support elsewhere.

In short, the conversation, the very core of the P2P experience, was scattered across too many surfaces.

We’re now working to fix that, not by making chat prettier, but by making it purposeful.

The Hypothesis: Chat as the Operating System of P2P

If chat is where every trade begins and ends, it should function like the operating system for that trade.

What if every key action such as negotiating, viewing an item, confirming payment, or leaving feedback could happen in that same space?

No more switching tabs, losing context, or breaking the flow.

That’s the direction we’re building toward.

Chat shouldn’t orbit the transaction. The transaction should orbit the chat.

The Fixes We’re Building

1. Seller and Buyer Focused Experiences

The Telegram app is free for everyone to use. But one of the main features of Telegram Premium is the folder system.

That small feature, organizing conversations into focused spaces, changes how people manage communication at scale.

Not everyone chats the same way.

A seller managing ten listings has different needs from a buyer browsing one item.

So we’re developing two separate environments.

Seller Chat: structured for speed, clarity, and scale. Sellers will be able to move quickly between multiple ongoing conversations, manage listings, and track trade progress.

Buyer Chat: simpler and more guided, focused on understanding the product and moving smoothly toward a decision.

We’re also adding state-based organization for both sides.

Chats will be divided into three tabs:

In Trade: ongoing deals that require attention.

Completed: finished trades where users can review or confirm.

Inquiry: early discussions before a trade starts.

This structure will let sellers prioritize what matters now and help buyers stay aware of what’s active or done.

Our goal is to make chat feel like a command center, not just a message list.

2. Product Context Inside the Chat

It matters less when you’re selling only one item. But what happens when you’re handling multiple listings with different details and quantities?

We’re addressing one of the most common P2P pain points: the disconnect between chat and product.

In most marketplaces, you talk in one place, view items in another, and lose your sense of context in between.

We’re changing that. Soon, product information will appear directly inside the chat: title, image, price, condition, and key details all in one view.

This way, every conversation stays grounded in the actual item, keeping communication clear and intuitive.

3. Reviews That Feel Natural

If chat really is the control tower, then why stop at the transaction? Why not complete the experience there too?

We’re preparing an update that brings reviews right into the conversation flow.

Once a trade is completed, both buyers and sellers will be able to leave a review directly inside the chat.

It should feel natural, not like a form or survey.

We believe feedback is most meaningful when it happens where the experience took place.

Over time, these conversational reviews will help shape OVERTAKE’s trust layer, giving reputation a visible and meaningful form.

Beyond Messages: The Control Tower of P2P

With these improvements in progress, chat is evolving into the control tower of the entire P2P experience.

It connects every part of the journey, from discovery to confirmation to feedback, without losing context.

You don’t just talk about a trade.

You complete it in one place.

From product previews to confirmations and soon, reviews, everything will flow within a single, cohesive experience.

No confusion. No switching. Just one continuous loop between people, product, and trust.

That’s what we mean by chat rebuilt for real P2P.

It’s not about redesigning an interface.

It’s about rethinking what peer-to-peer can feel like.

What This Means for P2P

Every improvement we’re working on, from product context to smarter chat organization to conversational reviews, moves us closer to a P2P ecosystem that feels alive, intuitive, and human.

We’re not building a marketplace that happens to have chat.

We’re building one where chat is the marketplace.

Because in the end, every great trade starts the same way.

A message. A question. A connection.

And from that first “Hey, is this still available?” everything else follows.
