Circle
We end exactly where we began. Between our first breath and our last, the only thing that truly changes is the collection of memories we create — painfully beautiful reminders of what it means to be human.
People often say that life gets better, but I am not sure it does. When we are born, we exist in the purest state possible: fearless, untouched by disappointment, and unaware of sorrow. Perhaps nothing ever becomes “better,” because perfection cannot be improved; it can only be lived, lost, and remembered.
Maybe happiness was never meant to be something we chase. Maybe happiness is always tied to a person — the one who gave me my first breath and my first moment of pure, unconditional happiness, and the one to whom I will give that same pure happiness in return one day. And then there are the ones who help complete my circle of life, guiding me gently from the first breath toward the last.
In the end, when our first and last breaths finally meet, what remains are the people who shaped the circle of our life. Everything else becomes memory. So don’t be hard on yourself — just remember how perfect you already are, and feel the moments as they come.
