A Mystery

My voice is a mystery, A mystery I do not get, It is only ever heard, When it doesn’t want to be heard, Out comes a whisper, And the needless answers, They all push through, When I demand for my voice, For it to be heard, Everything quietens down, All into nothing, Leaving me in a strange world, Aching to hear, Another sound of something.

My voice is a mystery, A mystery I do not get, I am tired and aching, For it to be heard, When I will give up, And the end will almost, Start looking a bit familiar, I know you will suddenly hear, A whisper that doesn’t want to be heard, And I will have to brace myself, All over again, Because I would not want, To hear your voice in response.

I latch on to tiny bits of kindness, and I want to be heard every second of the day. I want to be heard, and I want your voice to answer back whatever you can.

My voice maybe isn’t strong enough because why does it never get a response? I ache and I hurt, and then I wail and I cry. The silence is all I get in response.

I fear for the day when I wouldn’t want to be heard, and you will come running to me to help. Why would it matter then, when I would want to be left alone?

Why must my voice be only answered with silence?

To my new readers: In my poetry, I use the word “I” but it does not mean “I” as in me. It’s just my writing style.
