My name is Bet. I’m an Iranian oil painting artist, and I’ve spent years trying to explain something that doesn’t have a simple answer: why I paint. It’s not to decorate walls. It’s not to copy what already exists. I paint because some emotions have no words — and canvas is the only place they can breathe. Every piece I create starts with a feeling, not a reference image. Sometimes it’s mine. Sometimes it belongs to someone else — a memory they carry, a loss they can’t name, a joy too fragile for language. I listen, and then I paint. This is what I call painting emotions, not copies. I also create commissioned paintings — original pieces based on your story, your feeling, your moment. Not a print. Not a template.
