A morning of synthesis

A rainy morning in the Netherlands.

Coffee, pen and paper, let the ink flow.

As I look back at the week, the launch of Veterans Unchained 3.0, some great 1:1 coaching conversations, facilitating a workshop about effective conversations and inspiring masterminding on Friday, I start to connect some dots.

Some of the things I thought about the past weeks:

  • Howard Gardner’s idea of Multiple Intelligences, our latent talent;

  • The Wheel of Life, as a way of looking at our whole life, multiple life areas;

  • Storytelling, the 3 acts, how it is, the inciting incident (the call to adventure), how life is after the inciting incident and the transformation it initiated;

  • The Human Journey as an ongoing journey of transformation, both by chance and by choice, by default and by design;

  • Our Dream and Destiny, our dot on the horizon, the direction of our journey;

  • The Sustainable Development Goals as a way to get ideas about what the world needs and how we can best serve the whole.

Work in progress, ongoing synthesizing, not complete or finalized.

The moments of contemplation and reflection, using various questions.

The moments of pausing, silence, listening.

I look at my notes. The concept emerges. So, I move to my computer and start to create a flow.

Storytelling, transformation and The Human Journey as the central theme.

Using our multiple intelligences to serve the whole, to contribute to one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Doing what we love, are good at and want to get even better at.

As you read this and watch the image, in the present moment, use the power of the pause. Be present.

Sit with the image and the questions.

Maybe you are aware of your (multiple) intelligences, maybe you are not.

By looking at Howard Gardner’s work you may become aware of a latent talent. Something you wanted to try and express for a long time.

You may look at a single aspect of your life or contemplate your whole life. Being content about how things are, grateful, while at the same time seeing areas that can be improved.

Maybe you feel a call to adventure.

Want to tread differently on your human journey.

You may already have an idea what the world needs and how you can best serve the whole, using your (latent) talent. Looking at the Sustainable Development Goals you may get a better understanding of what really interests you and where you want to make a difference.

You look at the question “What else is possible?”, and you start dreaming, envisioning.

What is your dream?

Who are you as the person playing for that dream?

Who can you be, become?

As the rain continues, this seems like a great day to stay inside and go deeper inside.

A day to pause, a day to dream. A dream to play and act.

One small action could be to inspire others by answering this question in the comments: What insight emerged for you as you read this post, watched the image?
