Once again, take a sit and reflect.

I was supposed to finish my work tonight. Instead, my mind wandered somewhere else.
Do we forgive the people who hurt us? Do we eventually let go of their mistakes? And more importantly… Do we forgive ourselves?
I find it strange that we often have endless forgiveness for other people. We tell them that everyone makes mistakes, that no one is perfect, that tomorrow is another chance. Yet when it comes to ourselves, we become our own harshest critic.
One mistake somehow turns into ten, not because we actually made ten mistakes, but because our minds keep replaying old ones. A failure from yesterday joins another from last year, until they become one heavy burden that we carry everywhere.
But a mistake is just that: a mistake. It is not a definition of who we are.
Mistakes are evidence that we tried. They are opportunities to learn, adjust, and return stronger than before. Every time we fail, we are given a chance to understand something we didn’t know yesterday. The real danger is not making mistakes. The real danger is convincing ourselves that one mistake means we are stupid, incapable, or unworthy.
I believe growth begins the moment we choose to learn instead of punish ourselves.
Forgiving ourselves does not mean avoiding responsibility. It means accepting what happened, taking ownership of it, and giving ourselves permission to move forward instead of remaining trapped in guilt.
Perhaps maturity is not about becoming someone who never fails. Perhaps maturity is learning how to fail without losing kindness toward yourself.
We are often patient with other people’s imperfections. We comfort them, encourage them, and remind them that they are doing their best. Why don’t we offer ourselves the same compassion?
After all, no one truly knows how hard we’ve tried except ourselves. People will always judge us based on what they can see. They rarely witness the sleepless nights, the silent disappointments, or the courage it took to try one more time. But we do.
So maybe it’s time to stop collecting our mistakes as evidence against ourselves. Instead, let them become reminders of how much we’ve grown.
Let mistakes be mistakes. Accept them.
Learn from them. Forgive yourself.
