The newest news is always pressing, and this story is no different. A Covington Catholic school from Kentucky traveled to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

While they were there, an Indigenous Peoples March was going along, as was the annual March for Life. During this event, students were walking back to their busses when they got caught up with five black men who identified as Hebrew Israelites, and a veteran activist, Nathan Phillips.

Podcasts sometimes don’t cover the full story and I believe that’s the case for this one. I like that they did a podcast, but I’m disappointed that they didn’t do the interview with Nathan Phillips and Nick Sandmann.

For this podcast though, I was a big fan of them doing an interview with a citizen of the Navajo Nation and descendant of the Yankton Sioux Tribe. The interview was conducted in a really nice manner, and I thought the answers were thoroughly thought out.

When building this story, I think they used a lot of the human elements needed and it flowed really well as a conversation. Another thing I enjoyed was where this conversation was going. The questions she asked set up for long answers, but it also seemed that she knew what she was doing.

This is relevant in the news because people are hearing about this, they are seeing this video, they are experiencing it. We are getting both sides of the story after interviews, but this interview doesn’t do the whole “tell me your side.”

This interview isn’t focused on the people as individuals, it is focused on society. I think that is relevant to just about anybody.

I think this does work as a podcast, mainly because she is conducting an interview and they work really well in small podcasts. The way the podcast was formed, I think, was successful and it made it easy to listen to. It wasn’t just focused on this event either, but the outcome of multiple events in society and that is really important.

In my opinion, I think this would have worked better as a multimedia package, or video. Yes, there are a ton out there showing the same video and people have done it. I just think that you need to see their faces and reactions and videos to get the full scope of things when it comes to a case such as this.
