Steps to Create an App and Generate a Complete Plan Using Mendix Maia Plan

Step 1: Log in to the Mendix Developer Portal and click on Create App to start a new Mendix application.

Step 2: Select the “Start with AI Guidance” option to leverage Maia Plan for application planning.

Step 3: Provide the context of your project by describing your idea. You can also attach supporting documents such as images, PDFs, or Word files to give more clarity.

Click on the “Generate Plan” button to let Maia Plan analyse your input and create an initial project plan.

Step 4: Based on your input, a Project Scope will be generated. This includes:

• Project goals
• Success criteria
• User personas and their goals
• Overall project requirements

You can review and refine this scope by editing or adding/removing success criteria, personas, and requirements.

Step 5: Once satisfied, click “Approve Project Scope”, then select “Generate Solution” to create epics and their corresponding user stories.

Step 6: After generating epics and user stories, Maia Plan also suggests relevant widgets and modules from the Mendix Marketplace, tailored to your requirements. These recommendations are linked to specific user stories.

Step 7: Mendix Maia Plan allows you to lock the project scope and solution proposal to avoid unintended modifications, with the flexibility to unlock them whenever updates are required

Step 9: Click “Open in Planning” to access the planning dashboard. Here, you can view user stories organized into:

• Current sprint
• Upcoming sprints

You can easily reprioritize and move items between these sections.
