How to sync JumpCloud groups to Google WorkSpace & GCP

If JumpCloud is your single source of truth and you sync JumpCloud users to GWS (Google WorkSpace), there is now also an option to sync Groups.

To do so, in JumpCloud Cloud Directories, choose the relevant Google WorkSpace sync.

Look for:

Enable the checkbox:

You need to re-activate the sync afterwards (or it will tell you to do so).

This will load a prompt to authenticate to Google WorkSpace.

**Note: the sync takes a lot of time in case of enviornment with a lot of users. Be patient.

In the cloud directory, under user group, check the group you’d like to sync. Due to the checkbox we’ve ticked before there is now a need to add an email address, i.e group@domain.com

** Note that the group in GWS side is created as a mailing list. Thus you might need to change the security settings on Google’s side:

That’s it. Now you can use JumpCloud groups in GWS and also in GCP if you have an org in GCP.
