Salesforce Buys Apromore to Unlock Business Process Insight

It’s no surprise that Salesforce is copying competitors to try to win market share. Last week the company, known for its SAAS CRM product, acquired Apromore. Its largest competitors include SAP buddy Celonis, UiPath, IBM Process Mining, and SAP Signavio. Other comparable solutions include Appian, ABBYY, Microsoft Power Automate, and various others from companies like Pega and Bizagi.

Salesforce’s goal with the Apromore acquisition? Providing customers with the end-to-end visibility they need to understand how their business truly operates. That insight enables “customers to unlock opportunities to measure, optimize, and automate through agentic process automation,” said Steve Fisher, president and Chief Product Officer, Salesforce.

Company founder and CEO Mark Benioff hopes to use Apromore to enhance its Agentforce platform by bringing process mining capabilities directly to it. The desired end result is helping its customers analyze, optimize, and automate their business processes more effectively. In other words, efficient to helpful, automate processes based on how work is actually done.

It’s worth noting that Salesforce’s Mulesoft Apromore (that’s what it’s now being called) hopes to win customers from outside of Salesforce’s base.
