I ran 14+ Miles!
and I didn’t totally hate it!
It’s a first, though I have a feeling the next 10 or so Saturday’s will be firsts, as my long runs continue to increase in distance. That being said, I will celebrate my first 14+ mile run of my 30 years.

Like the last 3 weeks, New York City’s Summer Streets provided a majority of the terrain. I started on the Upper East Side, made my way down and over the Brooklyn Bridge, then back up the city and took a lap on the southern small loop of Central Park. Given it was the last Summer Streets of the year and the weather continue to be beautiful…and HOT, there were a lot of people out and about. That being said, I managed to run a relatively strong pace close to 10 minutes, which I am happy about.
That was Saturday morning. 24 hours later, instead of getting in a class at MHRC with my #RunMigos, I found myself in Duck, NC with some family and family friends for our 2nd annual beach week. The weather is beautiful the sun is out and my gross feet are hidden in the sand. I skipped workouts Sunday and Monday, but got a 6 mile run in this morning.

I thought I was going to get out early enough that it wouldn’t get too hot, but it was already 80ish. I found a good route with LOTS of shade which was much appreciated. Just a quick out and back to start the day off, followed by a jump in the ocean. Not too shabby a way to end a run. I could definitely get used to that.
Coming Up
Tomorrow and Thursday — More beach miles
Saturday — 16 Miles with Fred’s Team (Another First!)
